Elders Meal Program

Beaver drawing

The elder's meal program is a program dedicated to the health and wellness of our elders. Meals are served at the Aki Community center 4-5 days a week and once per month at the Hackley building in Muskegon. All meals meet the 33.3% daily recommended intake of nutrition as well as incorporating traditional foods. All activities have a focus on bettering hand/eye coordination as well as building a fun, friendly environment that help elders socialize!

The mascot of our program is an Amik (beaver) because in the 7 grandfather teachings amik represents wisdom. And historically, elders were the ones who held the wisdom and passed it down to others.

BINGO!

Bingo for Manistee is always held the last friday of the month at Aki Community center starting at 10 AM.

Bingo for Muskegon will always take place after elder lunches the 2nd Friday of the month at 1101 Hackley Avenue in Muskegon.
